According to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 31 guarantees every child’s right to rest, leisure, and play.
Why Play Matters for All Children
Play contributes to emotional well being, cognitive growth, physical health, and social skills. This is especially critical for children with disabilities they gain confidence, resilience, and peer interaction through play.
The American Academy of Pediatrics states in The Power of Play that play enhances brain development, language acquisition, and motor skills.
